AsstrA Associated Traffic coordinated delivery of two water-cooled condensers from China to a combined cycle gas turbine plant in Talimarjan, Uzbekistan.
The shipment’s 7.8 m width meant that it was unable to fit through the gate at the border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. AsstrA organised the dismantling of the gates and part of the infrastructure at the border, allowing for the equipment to pass through unobstructed, while also obtaining the necessary permits for border crossing.
Trucks with swivel axles and three-axle tractor trailers enabled manoeuvring through tight turns and narrow sections of the route and added stability during movement.
“Project logistics always requires non-standard solutions, especially in the transportation of oversized cargo. In this case, the key success factors were detailed route planning, prompt coordination with border services, and the use of specialised transport,” said Nikita Kim, business development manager at AsstrA IPL in Kazakhstan. “We not only delivered the cargo but also ensured its smooth passage along a complex route.”
Last month, AsstrA delivered OBSL modules for Ineos Project One.
