The companies were tasked with moving a rim from Italy and a ferrule from Brazil, two items that make up a quicklime kiln. The cargoes, which had a combined weight of roughly 80 tonnes, were destined for a pulp mill in Region VIII of Chile.

Both pieces needed to be changed during a plant shutdown. With strict timeframes set, it was necessary to deliver both pieces concurrently.

Olha Danylova, commercial executive at Antonov Airlines said: “This project was interesting and unique. The cargo was located in two different parts of the world. It was required to develop a system of fastenings and points for securing the load in order not to build a frame, since this is a long process and financially costly. In cooperation with our customer Logwin we organised a trip of our load planner specialist to the manufacturing facility in Italy to assist in lashing planning. This project was implemented as a result of successful partnership: everything went seamless. The cargo was safely delivered to Chile.”

Alexander Bang, director product management airfreight global for Logwin, added: ”It was amazing to see in Italy how dedicated and professional all the arrangements were done from the involved teams from Ukrainian Antonov / NEO Air Charter and Logwin in Germany, Italy and Brazil. The additional loading in Brazil was managed without any issues and the AN-124 arrived in time in Chile and was unloaded without any problems.”
