Antonov Airlines has deployed one of its AN-124 aircraft to transport a racing yacht for the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup on behalf of GAC Pindar and Solent Freight Services.
The AC75 yacht was transported from Providence, Rhode Island, USA to Barcelona, Spain, where the American Magic team is preparing to participate in the event.
The yacht measured 22 m long, 5 m wide and 3.5 m high. For loading onto the aircraft, the AC75 was placed on a special cradle, which was then easily moved into the cargo cabin using the onboard winch.
The AC75 is a modified version of the monohull yacht built for the 36th America’s Cup, which Antonov Airlines transported from the USA to New Zealand in 2020.
