Altius has organised the ro-ro shipment of a 150-ton (136.1-tonne) CAT6015B excavator from Spain to a port in China.
The Altius ro-ro team was tasked with coordinating and overseeing the inland haulage from the supplier’s facilities and the port operations.
The main unit measured 8.6 m x 4.9 m x 4.75 m and weighed 90.6 tons (82.2 tonnes). Before it could be loaded onto a modular trailer for the road transport, the air filters and chimney had to be disassembled.
Upon arrival at the port, the parts were reassembled and loaded onto a 40 ft roll trailer for onward delivery to China.
