ALE has lifted 29 modules at the Montgomery County power station construction project in Houston, Texas.
Over the course of four months, ALE lifted and installed modules weighing 200-285 tonnes.
The most complex lift involved the rotation of two heat recovery steam generator modules. Measuring around 30 m x 4 m x 4 m, each module was positioned using two cranes in a tandem lifting procedure.
Key equipment used during the construction process included: three crawler cranes rated at 800 tonnes, 600 tonnes and 250 tonnes lifting capacity; SPMTs; and a jack and slide system – allowing for complex positioning manoeuvres.
The Montgomery County power station will begin operating in 2021.
