Czech Republic-based Pavel Švestka has transported a dismantled Airbus A320 from Ostrava to Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia using a Faymonville CombiMAX trailer.
The dismantled aircraft was loaded on to the trailer at Ostrava Airport in Mošnov for onward transportation to a privately run airport in Liptovský Mikuláš.
The largest part the aircraft – the fuselage – measured 36.5 m x 6 m x 4.7 m and weighed 18.84 tonnes.
Once loaded on to the CombiMAX trailer, the combination measured 43 m in length and had a total weight of 79.7 tonnes.
For the project, the low loading height of the trailer enabled the convoy to pass through a tunnel along the route, said Faymonville.
Pavel Švestka was also responsible for the delivery of the aircraft’s wings, tailplane and rudder.
