Agility has partnered with Chapman Freeborn Airchartering to deliver computed tomography (CT) scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to Malé in the Maldives.
The Ministry of Health in Maldives ordered approximately 41 tons (37.2 tonnes) of equipment consisting of MRI and CT scanners, along with other healthcare machinery for distribution to four different hospitals across the chain of islands and atolls that make up the nation.
Agility consolidated the shipment in Dubai, with cargoes originating in the USA, China, France, Japan and India – moving more than 287 pieces in total. One of the biggest challenges for this part of the project, according to Agility, was freighter flight and space availability as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.
In Dubai, Agility worked with charter broker Chapman Freeborn to broker a B747 freighter from Al Maktoum International Airport to deliver the equipment to Malé.
