AAL has shipped 22 petrochemical plant modules from Wison Heavy Industry’s facilities in China for an ethylene-glycol plant expansion project in Point Comfort, Texas on behalf of Pacific Ocean Group.
All 22 modules, weighing 1,280 tonnes in total, were loaded onboard the heavy lift vessel AAL Pusan in Nantong using the ship’s 700-tonne capacity cranes. Several of the units were stowed in the vessel’s holds, while others were lashed onto its weather deck.
Jack Zhou, AAL’s general manager and chief representative for China, said the A-Class, 31,000 dwt AAL Pusan was able to provide considerable cost and efficiency savings for the client.
The expansion project has been undertaken by Nan Ya Plastics, a division of the Taiwanese petrochemicals company, Formosa Plastics Corporation.
