COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers has completed the delivery of 82 structures for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project.
GTA is an offshore LNG project based on the maritime border of Mauritania and Senegal. It has been developed by bp (operator), Kosmos Energy, Petrosen, and Societe Mauritanienne des Hydrocarbures (SMHPM). Saipem, in a consortium with Eiffage Génie Civil Marine, was awarded the EPCI contract for the project’s near-shore terminal.
Over the past six months, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers has transported, on behalf of Saipem, 82 structures with a total weight of more than 33,000 tons from Karimun, Indonesia to the Tortue field. COSCO utilised a combination of semi-submersibles, deck carriers and multipurpose vessels for the deliveries.
