3PL Industrial Projects penned a long-term contract with Vestas to transport wind turbine parts in January 2025. It will be moving the components from Vietnam to Vestas’ facility in Lindø, Munkebo, Denmark, which includes overnight transport from Aarhus port – around 170 km from the site.
The initial shipment – two bundles of yaw rings, weighing 20 tonnes and measuring 6 m in diameter – was loaded on February 12 and delivered the next day. Given the width of the cargo and to observe Danish transportation regulations, each truck had an escort of three pilot cars.
“Coordinating international imports, road transportation, and regulatory compliance requires seamless teamwork, and I’m proud of our team’s dedication to delivering excellence for Vestas,” said Ilya Goncharov, head of industrial projects at 3PL and responsible for overseeing this project.
Further shipments are set to arrive in spring 2025.
Earlier this month, 3PL delivered three boilers from Lithuania to a recycling plant in London.
