Hamburg-headquartered United Heavy Lift (UHL) and Denmark’s Ocean7 Projects will open a joint office in Bergen, Norway.
The two companies, which specialise in the commercial management and operation of heavy lift tonnage, said they plan to establish more joint offices in the future.
Both organisations described to deal as a way to cover all multipurpose and heavy lift shipping sectors using a larger, more diverse fleet. Christoffer Dam Larsen, formerly of Superyacht Services, will manage the new Norwegian operation.
The United Group comprises of UHL, United Wind Logistics (UWL) and United Engineering Solutions (UES). UHL operates 15 heavy lift ships including module carriers and semi-submersibles. Ocean7 controls some 25 ships ranging from 2,500-17,500 dwt with lifting capacities of up to 500 tonnes, as well as ro-ro capacity.
UHL has been busy expanding its geographical footprint and service offerings. In June 2019, it signed a joint sailing agreement with Spain’s Marguisa Shipping Lines to offer a joint multipurpose service to West Africa.
