May 10 - A2SEA has signed a contract with Dong Energy, which will see its purpose-built offshore installation vessel Sea Installer play a key role in building the Hornsea offshore wind farm off the coast of the UK.
Sea Installer will be used to install part of the 174 Siemens 7 MW turbines, forming the 1.2 GW Hornsea Project One farm - slated to be the world's largest offshore wind farm.
The Hornsea wind farm will be located 120 km off the Yorkshire coast, covering approximately 407 sq km. When fully commissioned, the farm will provide green energy for over 1 million homes in the UK.
