March 27 - Wagenborg Nedlift has helped install a new 101-tonne reactor at the H&R ChemPharm GmbH production site in Salzbergen.
The new reactor, which was 37 m in length and 1.37 m in diameter, was twice as big as the 54 year old reactor that it was replacing.
Built in Grimma near Leipzig, the reactor had to be positions and installed in a steel construction framework measuring 40 m in height.
For the lifting job, Wagenborg used a 750-tonne capacity LR1750 crawler crane and since the reactor had to be lifted at an outreach of 58 m, the machine was equipped with a 300-tonne super lift counterweight.
A 500-tonne mobile crane was also used to help move the reactor, which was transferred from its temporary storage to its final position within four hours.
