United Heavy Lift (UHL) has delivered a Liebherr LPS 550 rail-mounted portal crane to Australian Amalgamated Terminals (AAT) aboard its UHL Fable.
The crane was fully assembled and will be commissioned by Liebherr in the coming weeks.
Once commissioned, AAT will have two identical LPS 550 rail-mounted slewing cranes with 144 tonnes capacity each (230 tonnes for a dual lift), plus one Pacific 2000 STS crane, at its Fisherman Islands facility in Brisbane, Queensland.
In May 2024, HLPFI reported that Wallenius Wilhelmsen had entered into an agreement to sell its Melbourne International RoRo & Auto Terminal (MIRRAT) to AAT.
