May 30 - Moscow-based crane rental company Topkran has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane, which is the first crane of its type in Russia.

Grigori Grigorian, co-proprietor of Topkran, said: "We are planning to use the new crane for underground railway construction and for jobs in the petrochemicals industry and metalworking industry."

Topkran's fleet consists of 60 mobile and crawler cranes, and 60 tower cranes, including Liebherr lattice boom cranes, but according Liebherr, the mobility of the LTM 1750-9.1 is an advantage for work on underground railways. The 750-tonne capacity machine can lift tunnel drilling machines in a single hoist, rather than two cranes working in tandem, says Liebherr.

According to Liebherr, Topkran  intends to increase the capacity of its fleet with the delivery of a 1,350-tonne capacity crawler crane, the LR 11350, in 2018.
