September 27 - West Columbia, South Carolina based White Crane Company Inc operates a wide range of lifting equipment but the Terex Crossover 6000 is the most popular in its fleet, claims president of the company, Jason Flynt.
The crane and rental rigging company purchased the 60-tonne boom truck crane to add more flexibility in servicing its industrial, commercial and residential construction customers.
The Terex crane offers a 33.5 m maximum boom length and a 51.8 m maximum tip height when equipped with its 17.4 m offset jib.
The crane was used to lift a 1.6-tonne object at a 32.6 m radius. The existing 60-tonne rough terrain crane the customer was using could not complete the heavy lift, so White Crane suggested its Crossover 6000.
"Our crossover offers a 2.2-tonne capacity at a 32 m radius, so we could perform the lift without it being a critical lift," said Ryan Flynt, White Crane's vice president.
Last year, the Crossover 6000 helped the company make history when it lifted a 15-tonne Habitat for Humanity house, built by children within the juvenile justice system, for charity.
