South African construction firm T3 Projects has taken delivery of two rough terrain cranes – an LRT 1100-2.1 and an LRT 1130-2.1 – along with an LTM 1300-6.3 mobile crane.
Specialising in mining and infrastructure projects, T3 Projects will use the cranes for loading heavy materials, erecting structures and executing high precision hoisting work.
“The new cranes represent a significant expansion of our current fleet and deliver unprecedented opportunities for high-capacity hoisting work that our current equipment cannot handle,” said Richard van den Barg, managing director at T3 Projects.
Citing Liebherr’s remote diagnostics system as an additional factor in the purchases, Donovan Carroll, operations director at T3 Projects, added: “As we often work in harsh conditions, we rely on high-quality, robust and powerful equipment. We therefore opted for Liebherr cranes, as they are widely recognised for their reliability and durability.”
Both the LRT 1100-2.1 and the LRT 1130-2.1 feature a telescopic boom with a total length of 60 m, paired with a lifting capacity of 130 tonnes for the latter. As well as featuring Liebherr’s VarioBase system, the rough terrain cranes are time efficient in that they are simple to transport and set up.
With six axles, the LTM 1300-6.3 mobile crane can carry its 90-m telescopic boom with an axle load of 12 tonnes. As well as being easy to set up, the crane features both the VarioBase and VarioBallast systems.
The company employs over 900 people across South Africa, Mozambique, DR Congo, Ghana and Burkina Faso.
