September 23 - Sommer Kranverleih has added a 6-axle Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane to its fleet.
The 300-tonne crane is the Bremen-based company's first with a luffing fly jib.
Company owner, Björn Sommer explains: "Our customer's needs are growing when it comes to weight and lifting height. Since our largest crane, the 220-tonne LTM 1220-5.2, could no longer reach everywhere, we decided to purchase the new LTM 1300-6.2 with the luffing fly jib. As the smallest luffing fly jib crane on the market, it's perfect for getting us into this category. We like the weight advantage of the new design with just one engine, too."
The LTM 1300-6.2 is the successor to the 250-tonne LTM 1250-6.1.
With its 78 m telescopic boom, the new crane offers an additional 6 m in length over its predecessor. In addition its load capacity has been increased dramatically.
Sommer Kranverleih will use the LTM 1300-6.2 for industrial installations, erection of tower cranes and for the repair and dismantling of smaller wind power plants.
Sommer Kranverleih has already invested in five new mobile cranes this year: In addition to the LTM 1300-6.2, it has also purchased an LTM 1055-3.2, an LTM 1130-5.1 and two LTM 1090-4.1 cranes.
Björn Sommer explains that the decision to invest is due to a good order situation and the current good sales conditions for used cranes.
"Liebherr mobile cranes have an especially high resale value," Sommer adds.
