February 22 - Sanghvi Movers has placed an order for seven Demag CC 3800-1 lattice boom crawler cranes, in addition to the five units already in its fleet.

The deal was signed by Chris Sanghvi, chairman and managing director at Shangvi Movers and Steve Filipov, president at Terex Cranes at the headquarters of the former in Pune, India.

According to Terex, the CC 3800-1 cranes, which have a 110-tonne capacity at a height of 120 m, will be primarily used for installation of wind turbines.

Sanghvi said: "These next generation cranes will be utilised for future projects erecting windmills up to 160 m hub height and 3 MW capacity."

In 2015 Terex Cranes delivered eight CC 2800-1 cranes and in 2016 delivered five CC 3800-1 cranes.

"With this new order, Sanghvi Movers will own 12 CC 3800-1 cranes and 21 CC 2800-2 cranes, and will be the largest global fleet owner for these Demag products," claimed Filipov.

The delivery of the cranes is scheduled for later this year.
