July 24 - The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) is to hold its Crane & Rigging Workshop from September 24-26 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Texas.
During the annual workshop, industry professionals will present educational sessions.
Among the sessions will be a presentation by Knut Buschmann of Unirope Ltd on the best practice for wire rope installation; Joseph Collins of Becht Engineering will also discuss the key to hiring the right lift director; NBIS' Bill Smith will present on operating cranes around power lines; while Keith Anderson of Bechtel Equipment Operations will present on evaluating sling stability and load equilibrium.
The 450 expected delegates will also be presented with the winners of the SC&RA 2014 Rigging Jobs of the Year.
The workshop will also include meetings of the SC&RA Tower Crane Committee, Crane & Rigging Group's Safety Education & Training Committee, Labor Committee, and Governing Committee.
