December 14 - Sarens has added two Liebherr cranes to its Australian fleet.
The LG 1750 SX is a 750-tonne lattice boom crane mounted on an eight-axle truck chassis. It was recently delivered to Australia, where it has started work on the Sapphire wind turbine installation project for Vestas.
The crane features a 155 m main boom and a fixed jib of 12 m, a typical configuration for installing larger wind turbines, says Liebherr.
The LTM 1450-8.1, a 450-tonne capacity all-terrain crane, is also new to Sarens' Australian fleet and will soon be deployed on a project for Carcon.
The all-terrain crane features an 85 m telescopic boom and 35 m lattice boom extension, it can also be equipped with an 84 m luffing jib.
According to Sarens, the two cranes have been added to the fleet in anticipation of the growing renewables market in the country, and are expected to work on several wind energy projects in the coming years.
