Belgian heavy lift and transport engineering specialist Sarens has unveiled #BeSafe, its latest safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) programme.
Sarens said that #BeSafe has been curated and crafted in collaboration with the entire Sarens community, encompassing families, clients, and key contacts. “This initiative follows a period of sustained enhancement in our SHEQ performance, underscoring our steadfast dedication to elevating safety standards across all facets of our operations,” said the company.
The campaign was inspired by the significance of hand gestures in the heavy lifting industry and is symbolised with a heart gesture on the chest.
Sarens has a long history of putting Safety at the forefront of its activities. In 2023, it won the Heavy Lift Awards Safety and Training prize. It was recognised for its in-depth training sessions, the design and implementation of the ‘prevention at Sarens’ tool, and the roll out of the Sarens Incident Cause Analysis training course, among other initiatives. Since 2017, Sarens has had its own in-house training centre and after becoming a European Crane Operator Licence (ECOL) centre, revamped the facility to increase capacity for both classroom and practical training.
