April 12 - SAL Heavy Lift has purchased a tailormade set of lifting beams, which the company claims allows it to perform lifting operations not possible with standard gear.
The set consists of two traverse beams with a working length of up to 26 m and a single safe working load (SWL) of 1,000 tons (907.18 tonnes) and two spreader beams with a working length of up to 18 m and a single SWL of 1,000 tons (907.18 tonnes), at a 90 degrees angle between the slings.
According to SAL, they can be used in multiple configurations.
