March 27 - Colombian crane contractor, Mamut de Colombia, has utilised several Liebherr mobile cranes in the construction of metro line 2 in Panama City.
Two Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile cranes and a Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1 crane will be used to lift a total of 1,640 concrete beams, weighing up to 161 tonnes, onto prefabricated pillars by the end 2018. The beams measure 20 m and 30 m in length and 5 m in width.
The new metro line will have a total length of 21 km and will run between San Miguelito and Nuevo Tocumen.
