June 16 - Shuttlelift has delivered a 100,000-lb (45.4-tonne) capacity SB50 rubber-tyred gantry crane to Mustang Cat Power Systems in Houston, USA.
The single beam machine has improved overall productivity and increased efficiency while maximising every square inch of yard space.
Mustang Cat, as the authorised Caterpillar dealer in south east Texas, will utilise the single beam machine to move the 3500-3600 CAT industrial engines.
"With the wireless remote control, we have the capability to turn what used to be a two or three man operation into a one or two man job with just one spotter walking around, improving our manoeuvrability and operational safety," says Scott Weaver, service operations manager at Mustang Cat.
In addition to being equipped with the wireless remote control package, Shuttlelift's engineering team designed the machine with a custom spreader capable of handling Mustang Cat's complete line of industrial engines. The LED light package also provides the ability to keep operations running through the night.
