UK-based lifting and spreader beam manufacturer Multisec has introduced a 1,600-tonne capacity monopile beam.
The beam comprises a pair of 2 m end units with drop links and a combination of three 8 m struts plus a 4 m strut, which have a combined weight of 31.46 tonnes. Multisec said the unit is the company’s most ambitious achievement to date in terms of both length and lifting capacity.
With the demand for high-capacity lifting equipment on the rise, the company’s technical director Wan Djawad said: “I’m looking forward to building on the success of this project and continuing to produce high-quality lifting solutions for our customers both in the UK and overseas.”
In October 2023 UK-based Durham Lifting formed a strategic global partnership with Mercia Lifting Gear. As a result of the partnership, Mercia Lifting Gear became a distributor of Multisec spreader beam products, and the companies set out on jointly developing their product ranges.
In January 2024, Amanda and Paul Gardiner took 100 percent ownership Durham Lifting in a management buyout.
