French crane services provider Mediaco has taken delivery of a Demag AC 55-3 all-terrain crane – the first of its kind in France – from manufacturer Terex.
With 19 more of the 55-tonne capacity all-terrain cranes scheduled to follow soon, Mediaco chief operations officer in the north of France, Frédéric Gilbert, said: “We ordered several Demag AC 55-3 cranes because this particular model is a great fit for so many different applications.
“It has an impressive, 50 m long main boom, which is the longest of any three-axle crane models, and its compact design makes it easy to get around a congested city.
“Also very important for us, this crane can be taken on the road with all its counterweight in the 12-tonne axle load limit,” he added.
Terex pointed out that the Demag AC 55-3 crane has an automated counterweight rigging system for easy and fast set-up, a one-engine concept that reduces operational and maintenance costs, and the IC-1 Plus control system that provides the crane’s maximum allowable lifting capacity, based on the slewing angle, for every crane configuration.
Mediaco’s fleet currently numbers over 600 machines, including 28 mobile cranes from 300 tonnes to 750 tonnes based in France. Besides lifting, the company also offers handling services, access platforms, transport and storage of liquids, logistics, and equipment rental and sale.
