February 26 - Manitowoc has introduced a new 100-tonne capacity Grove all-terrain crane - the four-axle GMK4100L-1.
The Grove GMK4100L-1 is an upgrade to the GMK4100L taxi crane, weighing less that 12 tonnes per axle and delivering a 6.9 percent better load charts in its maximum counterweight configuration than its predecessor.
In the taxi configuration with a 6.7-tonne counterweight, Manitowoc says that the GMK4100L-1 boasts an increase of 9.3 percent in performance.
The crane's removable counterweight reduces the basic model's gross vehicle weight to the lowest level in the four-axle category for a 100-tonne capacity crane with a 60 m boom, says the manufacturer.
The crane also features an 18 m telescopic jib, which can be extended with an 8 m boom extension for a total jib length of 26 m.
Deliveries of the new GMK4100L-1 will start in the third quarter of 2016.
Traditionally, a taxi crane is a small and versatile crane that has speed, manoeuvrability and the ability to carry out several jobs a day.
