Mammoet has added a 750-tonne capacity LG1750 lattice boom mobile crane to its fleet in Australia, in order to meet the growing demands from the wind energy market in the region.
Wind farms in Australia are being installed at an ever-increasing rate to generate more electricity and meet the renewable power targets set by the government, explained Mammoet. According to the Netherlands-headquartered heavy lifting specialist, hub heights, rotor blades, nacelles and tower sections are all increasing in size, which requires larger cranes to execute the installations.
Operations managemer, Riki McMahon, explained that the LG1750 is the ideal crane to work with higher and more powerful wind turbines and meet the demands of the Australian wind market.
“The addition of this crane ensures we are equipped for the future developments and demands of the market,” added McMahon.
