Mammoet has added two nine-axle HighwayMAX trailers from Faymonville for its North American operations.
The HighwayMAX trailers for Mammoet have a legal payload of more than 174,000 lbs (79 tonnes), with a capacity of 20,000 lbs (9 tonnes) per axle. Faymonville sales manager Paul Hönen added that the kingpin steering with counter-steered axles enables the necessary maneuverability, while the pendulum axles and a steering angle up to 60 degrees ensure the trailers are suitable for use on difficult road conditions.
The stretch deck has a total length of 89 ft (27.1 m), which can be easily extended and closed, said Faymonville. The total truck and trailer length, meanwhile, remains below 90 ft (27.4 m), which means it is able to travel without an escort in most US states.
Hönen added: “Our HighwayMAX vehicle is the reliable solution for the most different heavy haul jobs. Extremely high point loads of 44,000 lbs [20 tonnes] over the axle bearings and 88,000 lbs [40 tonnes] over the center spine ensure optimum robustness. The hydraulic axle compensation provides an increased side stability.”
Mammoet will use the equipment to transport industrial parts, wind energy components, machinery or crane components. Mammoet has added two nine-axle HighwayMAX trailers from Faymonville for its North American operations.
