November 15 - A Dutch road project has been crowned by a second landmark wooden bridge at Sneek, Netherlands in a heavylift operation this month on the A7 roadway.
The lift followed the first wooden bridge which was placed in location in 2008.
Wagenborg Nedlift was responsible for deploying six heavy mobile cranes: two x 200 tonnes crane, one x 250 tonnes crane, one 300 tonnes crane and two x 500 tonnes crane to place wooden bows of 120 tonnes on the wooden bridge deck. It was a precise piece of work as everything has to fit exactly.
During the night of 20/21 November, the complete bridge of 320 tonnes will be placed onto its foundation; and SPMT trailers will be used to realise this next stage of the project.
