April 15 - Singaporean crane hire company, Moh Seng Cranes, has taken delivery of the first Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane in Southeast Asia and put it to use in the installation of generator sets.
Moh Seng was awarded the contract to install the generator sets, each of which weighed 21 tonnes, on top of an industrial building at a working radius of 70 m.
In order to reach the long working radius required, a 66.5 m luffing jib was installed in a TYVEN configuration with a Y-guying system and a telescopic boom extension to perform most of the lifts.
Managing director of Moh Seng, Jovan Yap, explained why the Liebherr model was chosen for the job: "The LTM 1750-9.1 was chosen for its excellent hoisting capabilities as well as versatility in site mobility where space restrictions can be especially challenging."
Moh Seng's fleet of mobile cranes includes the LTM 1200-5.1, LTM 1350-6.1 and LTM 1500-8.1.
"This 750-tonne capacity crane will allow us to expand the number of heavy hoisting projects we can complete," added Yap.
