The 1,300th maritime crane has departed Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock’s facilities in Germany onboard BBC Chartering’s vessel BBC Russia.
An LHM 550 is one of two Liebherr cranes that have begun their 5,500 km journey to Ghana, where Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) will take delivery of the units for the port of Tema.
The berths adjacent to the Liebherr factory in Rostock’s port are accessible to ships with a draught of up to 13 m and are free from shipping obstacles such as locks and bridges, as such Liebherr is able to load the cranes fully assembled.
