Lankhorst Ropes has supplied heavy lift slings to Seaway 7 for use on the Dolphin Accommodation Upgrade Project (DAUP) for Shell Trinidad & Tobago.
Subsea 7 was appointed to transport and install a permanent living quarter module for the Dolphin platform on the East Coast Marine Area (ECMA), offshore Trinidad and Tobago. The slings were used to lift the 1,110-tonne module, which includes a control room, living quarters and helideck, onto the platform.
Under-the-jib equipment and rigging provider Lankhorst supplied three Lankoforce slings for the task: one 520-tonne minimum break load (MLB) sling measuring 104 m in length with rope diameter 64 mm; another 520-tonne MBL sling, which measured 47.2 m in length; and a 46.1 m-long rope with a load capacity of 1,300 tonnes.
