Huisman crane departs on BigLift’s Happy Star

A Huisman 2,200-tonne capacity leg encircling crane has been loaded onto BigLift Shipping’s vessel Happy Star and is making its way to the Keppel AmFELS shipyard in Texas, USA, for commissioning on Dominion Energy’s wind turbine installation vessel, Charybdis.

Charybdis will be the first Jones Act-compliant wind turbine installation vessel. The crane will ensure that Charybdis, which is under construction for Blue Ocean Energy Marine (a Dominion Energy company) will be fit-for-purpose for the installation of large-scale offshore wind developments in the USA.
