The Netherlands-headquartered Heerema Marine Contractors has added a Cometto eight-axle shipyard transporter to its operations.
The team from Heerema visited Cometto in Italy for the final acceptance of the transporter, which measures 6 m wide and 22 m long and has a payload capacity of 496 tonnes. It will be used to move offshore components at the Heerema plant in Niewdorp.
The shipyard transporter was moved from the Cometto plant in Borgo San Dalmazzo to the port of Marghera by Fagioli. From there, it was shipped to the Netherlands.
