Turkish heavy transport engineering specialist Hareket took delivery of a 2,200-tonne lift capacity crawler crane in Dubai as the company looks to expand its footing in the mega project arena.
The crawler has a lift height of 216 m when fully configured. When disassembled, it can be moved using roughly 150 vehicles. Hareket said that the new crane will enable it to take part in more of the world’s mega projects that require super-heavy lifting capacities, such as those seen in the oil and gas, petrochemicals and nuclear energy markets.
Abdullah Altunkum, ceo of Hareket, emphasised that the company will become stronger in the international arena with this investment: “We are proud to take this important step to take part in mega projects and use our engineering services more effectively. We aim to have a total lifting capacity of 4,000 tonnes with a second 2,200-tonne capacity crane, which is among our future investment plans. In this way, I believe that by further increasing the diversity of our equipment park, our engineering team will write many new success stories.”
Hareket, which has its head office in Istanbul, Türkiye, provides services in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, particularly in Kazakhstan, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Tanzania, UAE, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Altunkum said Hareket sees the need for a crane of this size particularly for projects in the Middle East.
