Brazil-based Guindastes Centro Oeste has taken delivery of the country’s first 230-tonne lift capacity LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane from Liebherr.

The LTM 1230-5.1 is the successor to the LTM 1200-5.1 and boasts one of the longest boom in its class, reaching a height of 75 m, while offering 20 percent more lifting capacity than its predecessor.

“We are expanding our fleet of machines above 200 tonnes. The characteristics of the telescopic boom, the versatility of a five-axle crane, and its high capacities and heights were motivating factors for acquiring this new model, which will carry out the tasks we have been handling with the LTM 1200-5.1,” said Diego Scopel, owner of Guindastes Centro Oeste. “The LTM 1230-5.1 will be deployed in operations at steel as well as paper and pulp plants, in short and medium-term projects, and in those that require high capacities in tight spaces,” he added.

In August this year, Guindastes Centro Oeste’s fleet will be enhanced with the addition of an LTM 1300-6.2. This 300-tonne crane features a single-engine concept, making it extremely efficient, said Liebherr. It is also designed for fast, simple set-up and comprises a 70 m-long luffing lattice jib.
