Greencarrier Freight Services has acquired a straddle carrier to support its operations in Ipswich, UK.
The main benefit of the straddle carrier, according to Greencarrier, is that the loading and unloading of cargo can be completed more efficiently.
With a lifting capacity of 35 000 kg (35 tonnes), the straddle carrier will be used to move containers and heavy loads.
Since establishing its port logistics and deepsea shipping operations between China and the UK in 2011, Greencarrier says it has seen an increase in cargo volumes. The equipment will support the larger freight volumes as well as heavier cargoes.
