Crane and heavy haulage contractor Riga Mainz has taken delivery of one of the first LTM 1110-5.2 mobile cranes, equipped with LICCON3 crane control and redesigned cabs.
Liebherr unveiled the LTM 1110-5.2 last year. With prototype tests complete, the manufacturer has moved into series production and is delivering the first 10 units to customers. Equipped with an additional data logger, Liebherr will be able to monitor the crane’s job profile as well as any problems that may arise. Therefore, it selected customers, including Riga Mainz, in the cold north and hot south of Europe for its monitoring purposes.
Riga Mainz managing director Kai Langer said that, “it’s important for us to be involved in new technologies such as LICCON3 right from the start in order to give important feedback to our partners in Liebherr’s development department based on our practical experience.” Liebherr has worked closely with Riga Mainz in the past to obtain feedback from the field. For example, in the early years of the LICCON crane control, load interpolations for intermediate lengths were discussed and then tested following their implementation.
The LTM 1110-5.2 is a five-axle machine that features a maximum load capacity of 110 tonnes and a 60 m telescopic boom.
