January 9 - FibreMax's lightweight synthetic crane pendants with a length of over 55 m and a breaking strength of 680 tonnes have been delivered to its customer and will be installed on a crane soon.
The order also included lightweight synthetic crane pendants with a length of 63 m and a breaking strength of 390 tonnes. The pendants are made of aramid fibre.
This is the first time that a customer has asked for a pendant of such a length, said FibreMax, although the manufacturer is able to produce pendants with lengths of up to 100 m, and even up to 150 m upon special request.
These are the longest synthetic crane pendants ever produced and installed on a crane worldwide, claimed FibreMax business development manager Wilco van Zonneveld.
