Heavy-duty trailer manufacturer Faymonville has added the wind tower adapter for self-steering trailers to its range of equipment deployed for handling wind turbine components.
The equipment can be configured for 6x4 and 8x4 or 8x4 and 10x4 tractor units. Product manager Rainer Noe said: “For the first time ever, 10x4 machines can take on such missions. The different base variants and the tyre options make the concept extremely interesting for the user.”
The adapters can connect to tower segments using three-point or four-point clamps without an additional frame. In the basic version, it can accommodate internal diameters from 2.65 m to 5.4 m. For even larger tower segments, an extension to 6.3 m is available.
