Canada’s DeSantis Crane Service has added a Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2 to its fleet, with the crane service provider intending to use the 180-tonne crane principally for lifting assembled concrete parts and air conditioning systems.
Boasting a 62-m telescopic boom, DeSantis also ordered three telescopic extensions for the model, along with a hydraulic double folding jib and a 2.9-m long assembly jib. The 180-tonne crane can reach a maximum lifting height of 92 m.
“The new 180-tonne crane perfectly closes the gap between our LTM 1130-5.1 and our LTM 1300-6.2,” said Mark Martino, owner of DeSantis. “In future, it will mainly be used to lift prefabricated concrete parts and air conditioning systems, and as a taxi crane.”
The crane has different boom configurations which facilitate flexible functions, with the VarioBallast system guaranteeing adaptability. Liebherr’s LTM 1160-5.2 can save up to ten percent on fuel too, due to its ECOmode and ECODrive technologies.
The entirety of DeSantis’ fleet of all-terrain cranes are from Liebherr, with a total of 18 cranes in its fleet.
Last month, Turkish crane and heavy haulage company Aydıntaş added two LTM 1450-8.1 mobile cranes to its fleet.
