City Lifting, a London-based mobile and tower crane rental company, has taken delivery of a Demag AC 220-5 all-terrain crane.
The five-axle, 220-tonne capacity crane has a total length of 14.5 m and a maximum boom length of 78 m.
"The bulk of our work happens in London's challenging city environment," said Trevor Jepson, owner of City Lifting. "To be profitable and meet our customers' expectations, we need to use cranes that can travel London's busy streets and be easily manoeuvred in confined urban working areas."
The crane is able to switch between all-axle steering, independent rear-axle steering and dynamic launch control, which Terex says boosts the crane's manoeuvrability on job sites.
The company also invested in the optional IC-1 Plus control system that provides real-time calculations of lifting capacities. "The IC-1 Plus control system's instantaneous capacity calculations allow us to use less counterweight while working in higher capacity ranges and means we can handle a larger scope of lifts with one crane model," said City Lifting's director Claire Jepson.
The AC 220-5 crane joins City Lifting's fleet of 60 mobile cranes.
