Chile-based Gruas Maule has expanded into the crane rental business with the acquisition of a Demag CC 3800-1 lattice boom crawler crane.
Gruas Maule, which ordered the machine last year, operates several fish oil factories, handles coal and runs a construction company. The crane will be used to perform several jobs in the mining and wind energy industries.
The 650-tonne lifting capacity crane was delivered to Gruas Maule earlier this year at the port of Mejillones.
"Entering the crane rental business is a big decision for our diverse organisation," said Eduardo Quezada, ceo of Gruas Maule. "We wanted to make sure we had the right team and right equipment to ensure our new venture would be successful."
