September 18 - Cortland Company has delivered a precision lifting solution to Seaway Heavy Lifting for the installation of a topside module in the North Sea.
The project required an extremely precise lift with millimetre level tolerances, with the module needing to remain in a narrow position and at a specified tilt at all times, explained Cortland.
Cortland, which is wholly owned by Actuant Corporation, supplied a hybrid of high performance Plasma 12 x 12 rope slings, and Selantic round slings to allow for the installation of the 800-tonne module.
