Texas-based Audubon has expanded its fleet with an additional 700-tonne lift capacity LR 1700-1.0 crawler crane from Liebherr.
The addition brings the company’s fleet of Liebherr units to 10. It now has three LR 1700-1.0 crawlers on its roster.
Based in Houston, Audubon uses its Liebherr cranes for the construction and maintenance of wind turbines, as well as petrochemical and refinery facilities.
“The LR 1700-1.0 stands out for our business because it can withstand the highest wind speeds and lift the heaviest components,” said Travis Cusimano, vice president of Audubon’s heavy lift business.
The LR 1700-1.0 combines the transport capability of 600-tonne-class crawler cranes with the performance of lattice boom cranes in the 750-tonne class, said Liebherr. To minimise wear when moving the crawler travel gear, the track rollers were enlarged.
