Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) members gathered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for its 22nd annual membership conference on November 10-13.
A packed schedule included conferences, face-to-face discussions, and social events in the Vietnamese city.
The annual WWPC auction for disadvantaged children raised funds for the Tu Tam Home, represented by Nun Phan Nang, who explained about the work of the shelter. The auction raised USD15,200 as a result of selling items donated by Chapman Freeborn Airchartering, BBC Chartering, Steder Group, Sadleirs Global Logistics, and Stuart Murdoch, administrative director of the WWPC. Attending members and the network’s administrative service supplier, Quality Cargo Networks, contributed further to help achieve the end result.
WWPC local Vietnam host and sponsor to the event, Huynh Vi Phuc (Philip), general director of A My Transports and Services Corporation (Amytrans Corp) made sure the group, comprising from members and sponsors from all over the world and invited guest speakers, enjoyed the occasion.
The conference agenda gincluded a presentation from Tran Thi Hai Yen, director of the Foreign Investment Agency of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, informing about preferential policies for foreign organisations or businesses investing in Vietnam. She also introduced projects that have successfully called for investment and are being implemented, projects calling for domestic and foreign investors in the near future, as well as detail of projects being implemented with state capital but with foreign support (such as financial support, technical support or equipment supplies).
Moreover, the WWPC board of advisors was re-elected at the event, comprising Richard Lee, CNC Freight Services, Malaysia; Ahmed Dahshan, Khedivial Marine Logistics (KML), Egypt; Marcel Hafemann, Ambercor Shipping, USA; and Ole Dammann of Germany’s LS Cargo Logistics. They will serve in their roles until the next membership conference, which takes place in Milan, Italy in the autumn of 2025. WWPC Italy member Riccardo Fioravanti of Fioravanti SRL Milan will act as local host.
