UTC Overseas will open an office in Gdańsk to provide logistics and engineering services to Poland’s growing project and industrial manufacturing sectors.
There are a number of projects upcoming in the region and Jakub Walasek has been selected to head up the new team. Commenting on his appointment, Mirko Knezevic, UTC’s chief operating officer Europe and Asia, said: “[He is] a seasoned professional with experience overseeing large-scale projects involving ocean, river, and inland transport in Poland.”
Reporting to Istvan Csepan, regional general manager power generation EMEA, the Gdańsk office will be run by a skilled team comprising civil and mechanical engineers.
“UTC’s strategic move to open an office in Poland is a significant step towards expanding our footprint in the industrial project sector that encompasses renewable energy initiatives. Poland is also an important transit point for countries in the Central European region,” added Marco Poisler, UTC’s chief operating officer energy and capital projects.
