Lifting Gear Hire (LGH) has acquired the rental fleet of Straightpoint, as the load cell manufacturer looks to exit the hire market.

LGH has taken delivery of Straightpoint’s entire range of load cells that were previously made available for short term hire. This includes 100-tonne capacity versions of the Radiolink plus load cells and compression load cells with a capacity up to 300 tonnes.

Colin Naylor, managing director at LGH, said: “Straightpoint’s decision to exit the rental business presented us with a huge opportunity to exploit new markets and target a wider demographic of customer.”

HLPFI reported in January that Crosby Group, a manufacturer of accessories used in lifting and rigging, acquired Straightpoint. While Straightpoint confirmed that it would maintain its commitment to non-rigging markets, such as the weighing sector, the company was already looking to exit the rental market.
